I'm with you, OP! I don't know how often he appears in fic, but I think he'd be interesting to read more about.

I used to find the Elves the most fascinating but having dug into HoME, I've really started to like the humans the best. Theoden didn't really do much for me until I read that he has 4 sisters and in an older draft of LOTR, he had a daughter. I just want all the fic of little Theoden with his sisters. Tolkien doesn't provide many opportunities for sister-relationships and certainly not as many as four girls in one family. Theoden was clearly really close with Eowyn and Eomer's mom, and his own mom was from Gondor. I just think his family life was way more interesting than we got to see.
