Maglor has always been my favorite of the Feanorians, and I agree that he didn't seem keen on the Oath. But he did go through with it, so I think he's fascinating. I wish there was some sense of what ultimately happened to him. Did he fade away to just a voice by the sea? He must've interacted with someone in all the time he's around, and I'd be curious who those people were and what happened. There's more story to tell - it's just not part of the epic.

Aww, I really like the idea of a blonde Celegorm (just for aestethical reasons, I really don't care for him). Maybe it's because so far I've only read the italian translation of the Silmarillion, where "the Fair" becomes "il Chiaro" ("the Light-coloured"). I get that in english the word has a double meaning, but it just can't click for me because of that.

Eh. To be fair, the movies are probably more watchable than the books are readable - they still have the dumb plot twists, but if you can see that coming, at least you don't have to deal with the prose.

And hey, there are worse reasons to want to watch things.

I agree. It's one of the reasons why I don't wanna watch the TV show. The producers, directors, and writers obviously see rape as the go-to for quick drama and don't actually care about portraying it respectfully or realistically, smh. 😒
