Huh, that's interesting. Around here, every movie theater sells tickets for specific seats, because every category has its own price. Cheap seats in the front, expensive seats in the back, and so on. I'm almost 50 years old now, and I've never seen it any differently.

I'm nearly 40 and have been to theaters all across the US and never encountered the specific-seat thing until just a couple of months ago.
