I've read some doozies recently in the SW fandom. There's one person who should really give up on any new canon because she clearly hates it. She really hates Obi-wan and has this whole meta about him manipulating Luke into hating Vader. She also hates how dark siders are portrayed as, you know, dark siders and not the woobies they clearly are.

I also read a meta about the Clone Wars being Yoda's fault (solely) and about how awful Qui-gon is. All this negativity makes me sad.

I don't get what there is to hate about Obi-Wan? Besides that he's a fairly uninteresting, generic good guy? like... what

I agree (although I think Obi-wan is very interesting, but I've consumed a lot of non-movie SW stuff). This person just absolutely loathes him, and really hated that he got to kill Maul. Like, who else would get to kill him? You can't seriously think Maul would get to live. And you can't be pissed at Disney/etc. for doing what was a given.

I was more annoyed they brought Maul back in the first place at all. But I guess George really liked that story from Infinities and he was basically the one who told Filoni et al to make it happen.

And then I thought we were supposed to believe that Palpatine had gotten rid of him in Clone Wars but...eh. Like with all comics/cartoons/movies if you don't see a body they didn't necessarily die.

So yeah, as we went along in Rebels and it was obvious he was positioning himself for a confrontation with Obi-Wan there was really only one way it could end. I'm just glad it's over.

Maybe? I'm not sure. I've heard Yoda Apologist and I read a tumblr post about Yoda being responsible for the Clone wars, and that person said she might've started the wank but I don't think I've actually seen the Yoda Apologist stuff, just the Yoda hater.

Huh. While I won't disagree that Obi-Wan clearly had no intention of portraying Vader as redeemable to Luke and wanted him to do what Obi-Wan never did (kill him)...I don't think I'd go so far as to say Obi-Wan was manipulating Luke into hatred. That's pretty antithetical to the whole Jedi philosophy.

I fail to see how the Clone Wars are Yoda's fault when it was clearly orchestrated into existence by Palpatine.

Weird.
