My mom used to make something similar, but for the cream filling she'd mix homemade whipped cream with some vanilla pudding. I haven't had them in years but I remember how crazy good they were.

That sounds like an easy version of 'pastry filling'! I might try that next time because pastry filling seems like a lot of work.

I was going to post a funny gif but couldn't find any with Michael Fassbender and cream. So I figured I do Chris Evans covered in cream. But when I typed in Chris Evans c- it autofilled to Chris Evan crotch grab. Which led me to a series of pictures of Chris Evans and his seemingly uncomfortable junk on the set of Captain America. Thanks for starting me on that journey.
