Nah. Loom at the posters produced during the world wars. Look at every govenment in war times and every conservative government in peacetime. Hell, look at the entire 50's, 60's, and 70's mainstream culture. Read any literature addressing was and soldiering made at any point before videogames.

Its always bee dulce and decorum. Blood and honor. Videogames have done nothing that literally every other media in history has done. People romanticize war. Always have.
