I'm always confused by the notion that people CHOOSE what they ship? Does everyone else go around going: "Hm, okay. I will ship character A and B now. It's decided!" instead of watching a show, liking their interactions and just starting to ship it?
It sounds like shipping is something you... just turn off? I obviously get that you can just stop shipping something if something is revealed that would make you stop like if the characters are surprise siblings and incest squicks you out. But I don't know anyone who just stops shipping something they like instantaneously because... reasons?
