And after Jessica Jones got such high praise for "Real and Gritty"^TM I would be willing to put solid money on the fact that Tyrone will be fighting mostly racism -
Prolly from cops. Gotta be relevant, right? - and Tandy will be fighting mostly misogyny.

I'm not particularly bashing it yet - although I will wait to see if its done well - I'm just calling what I suspect will be their being themes and based on those two time stamps up there and my suspeicions, I think it looks a little rapey.

"having rape occur in something" is not the same as "being rapey" imo

second, I think that having a Cloak & Dagger TV show not talk about race and related issues at all would be mind-bogglingly idiotic. I feel like those themes come along with the basic concept of Cloak & Dagger. dunno though

No? How would you define something as being rapey?

No, not talking about it at all would be dumb. Particularly the whole Black man / White women thing and how people would react to it, but I suspect it's not going to just be a thing thats brought up, rather than the theme. Might be wrong, waiting to see.

I mean, like wonder woman used to fight Nazis and monsters, but the last Wonder woman comic series I read, all she fought was misogyny. Like every villain was a guy with less than enlightened views on women, and they were of course all super keen on telling wonder woman about it.

I would assume that, if you say something's rapey, it has themes or plotlines that have rapey undertones that the show doesn't seem to be aware of

Also, I'm not arguing any more about social representation in media with your gamergate ass anyway, shouldn't have done it in the first place
