A lot of us have internalized the idea that romance isn't kinky, your first time should be special, etc., but there are no problems with pursuing those standards while being sex positive, as long as those ideas don't go hand in hand with the potential for shaming yourself or anyone else, so when we're only talking about reading fic, dude, relax. The only problem here is I'm confused with how "gay for you" fits into that as you've discussed it. Gay isn't inherently kinky, but I think you mean the inclination comes from that "special first time" standard? IDK, you don't have to do GFY to make a character have an unexplored gay attraction, and in most cases I don't find that very hard to buy, but YMMV.

I find your second paragraph a little confusing though.
