...Something about this secret and the way you talk about LGBT people bothers me. Maybe it's because the way you treat straight as default and don't buy the, "OH BY THE WAY I'M GAY" shit when... People really don't go around going, "OH BY THE WAY I'M STRAIGHT." Like, you won't buy chemistry and it has to be spelled out, which is something that annoys me in fiction. Straight couples don't need that explicit confirmation, but gay couples always do...

THIS right here. I mean, the problem is reinforced by writers even bothering with a guy mentioning "those blowjobs I gave in college" or a gal thinking about that time she rolled around with a girl at a sleepover, but the default is not that you have to justify non-straightness, regardless what's shown on the screen. IMHO.
