Not so good for the victim's family with a civil suit against him, though.

His conviction is voided because the appeals process wasn't complete, which makes their civil suit harder.

Doesn't mean all the evidence from the criminal trial won't be there. Plus, with him dead, witnesses likely won't be intimidated into not testifying in a civil suit.

Do we know for certain he did it himself? Usually there has to be an investigation before we know for certain. And since I'm against the death penalty, while I'm not going to feel sorry for a murderer, I'm not going to be going "yay he's dead" either. We have a system for a reason.

He was found hanging in his cell by his own bedsheet.
