Or, yanno, insisting that other people who like B/A instead of A/B are stupid and wrong because B is such a wai-wai little weeaboo uke who just needs A to fuck it all better, and if A ever took it up the ass they would somehow be less manly and start... I dunno, snuggling kittens and knitting bonnets for little babies or something? (Not that that's not manly, per se, but you get the point.) Sorry, but just because I say that is a retarded fangirl point of view and real life doesn't work like that, doesn't mean I'm being hypocritical.
It would be hypocritical if the secret said a person wasn't allowed to have a favorite ship or prefer particular seme/uke dynamics in a pairing. They are addressing the people, and I have SEEN a lot of these people, who will bitch at you for days and call you an idiot because your favorite pairing is so stupid/sick/not canon/etc etc so forth. Or worse, because you disagree with the way they see their favorite ship. That's idiotic, and saying that's idiotic isn't hypocritical unless I'm doing the same thing.
Sorry, I actually didn't mean to make this sound wanky if it does, it's just that I share the OP's pet peeve and wanted to point out that it isn't hypocracy, and couldn't think of any other ways to word it.

However, the blanket statement that telling someone they're an idiot because they enjoy shipping two characters with each other and -no one else- is not the same as saying people that ship two characters and refuse to ship the characters with anyone else plus insisting that others are -wrong- for it.
i.e. Just because I ship character A with character B and prefer character A to top, doesn't mean that I think anyone else who likes character A with C or B with D is wrong, nor do I think that if someone prefers B/A that's wrong. I'm just not comfortable reading it that way. A character can be sexually dominant and still on the 'bottom' position, so it's all about personal preference and dynamic.
What I got out of that secret was more about saying being particular about who you ship or how you ship them makes you an idiot. Not "Don't preach to me, because you prefer it that way. I don't, stop pressuring me to enjoy your preferences" or something along those lines.
I hope I'm making sense. Basically, I'm just saying that - no, if I read that wrong and it's about people being jerks about it, then I agree with the secret. How I read it though, gave me the distinct impression it was about anyone that prefers a certain pairing or 'order' for the specific dynamic.
My reasoning for liking the dynamic I do is pretty much related to your explanation. I only like to see characters paired as A/B because generally when the fandom writes B/A it's with distorted view of the characters.
My point was telling me that I'm an idiot for liking A/B and not B/A is the same as someone telling you you're an idiot for being able to ship them with other characters, or switch up the order. As far as I can see, the secret is also telling people 'that because they happen to enjoy something different than you, they are DOIN' IT WRONG' to use your words. Just, for the opposite reasoning. And that is what I was commenting on. Because if that is what the secret says, than it is hypocritical.

That may have been accidental phrasing, so... yeah, I think it depends on what the original secret-maker meant. You're making perfect sense, because that would be totally hypocritical- it's just that for a while I was dipping into some of the crazy-fandoms when it comes to that sort of thing, so I'm a little over-used to people who do what the OP is upset about in the way I read it.

Trust me, I know all about Crazy Fandom. FMA fandom has taught me to look at all pairings with an open mind, whether I agree with them or not. I've learned to look at that 'argument' without bias. Which is exactly why I tried to word my comment in a neutral way....
