Do you know all the people in the world? Do you know what their life is like? Then spare me the "real life isn't that bad" B.S. You don't know what people have gone through in their life.

Tell a woman who was raped by her stepfather since she was five years old until she finally ran away at sixteen that "real life isn't that bad" and see how she responds.

Tell someone who has cystic fibrosis and is in and out of hospitals and knows that he'll die young that "real life isn't that bad" and see how he responds.

I know I'm being rude but I am so sick of people pushing the crap that real life is soooo wonderful because hey it isn't so wonderful for some people and if they wistfully express the wish to live in some fantasy then LET THEM.

Because they're living their lives and you aren't living their lives for them so cut them some slack mkay?

Now I'll step off MY soapbox.

I think you over-reacted. I actually agree with you, but I think you misinterpreted her post a bit... she's kind of not talking about victims of cystic fibrosis.

You're right. I did over-react. And I apologize for being so harsh. What I should have said is that when people wistfully say that they wish their lives were like a video game what they really mean is that they wish they had the control over their real lives that they do in a video game. Sometimes people feel that real life is completely out of their control.

Again I apologize.
