secret time, I thought the kid who played Aang did fine, and looked exactly like Aang, even if he was white.

he wasn't as funny as Aang, but that's because the movie cut basically all the goofiness out of the original series so I don't blame him for that.

Race aside, I think most of the kids did a hell of a job. I get why the race issue is a thing, but honestly I think the casting was almost perfect. especially for Aang. Shame it sort of ended his career. Kid had promise.
