I adore Rooney Mara as Lisbeth Salander in Finsher's TGWTDTT. I remember when it was first announced that she'd been cast, everyone who'd read the book was like whaaaat? because her look was the polar opposite of edgy. Her transformation for the role was phenomenal.

This is still a kind of controversial opinion, as Fincher's version seems to have roughly as many people who hate it as it has people who love it. But even if you prefer Noomi's Lisbeth, Rooney gave a performance that made it so you had to at least take her portrayal seriously.
