I don't think age would necessarily make it out of character as I'm mid thirties and I knew a ton of people my age and older who were into both Twilight and Harry Potter.

I think it's more about the character though, if a character has other similar nerdy interests then I can buy it. But if twilight is literally the one thing in that genre that has ever come up then it would seem ooc.
