I don't know, the sparkly thing was pretty infamous at one point.

And thinking about guys in shows I watch, pretty much a toss-up whether they would know or not. It wouldn't surprise me if any of the characters on NCIS: LA mentioned it. I could see any of the guys on Hawaii Five-0 saying something about it, even if they only got their knowledge of it from Jerry. Just, it was a pretty big phenomena and a lot of people have tangential knowledge of it. And even if they didn't know a thing about it, they easily could have interacted with someone who did, couldn't they?
