i don't think that was the issue at hand @_@

OP was being an idiot and acting like it was WoW's fault that some people can't take things in moderation. It's perfectly possible to play the game casually, but some people just can't/won't...and other people blow others' love for the game out of proportion. Yes, some people are more prone to become addicted to things like this than others, and it's unfortunate that the game happened to be what they got dragged into...but I think it's moronic to assume that no one can play WoW casually, and that the game is somehow inherently the heroine of the gaming world. Don't blame Blizzard because you don't know the meaning of moderation. >>

While the end of the secret ('I wish it had never been created') implies that it's the game's fault, I think the center bit ('You know you can't play casually.') is obviously directed at the specific person being spoken to at the start of the secret. I read it more that the OP knows it's a fault of the person playing but wishes the game didn't exist because it would remove the problem at hand.

Just sayin'.

The OP doesn't make herself clear at all.

While she makes it clear she's distressed that a friend is addicted to WoW, she implies that it is (at least partially) the fault of the creators for releasing the game in the first place. Even if this isn't what she meant, the secret is clumsily worded, at best. OP needs to learn to pick her words more carefully.

anyway i was trying to point out that your comment, pertaining to money, didn't really have much to do with the issue at hand.

my point was that blaming blizzard for it was stupid. if their game is addictive, it's not really something to hate the game for. they're just trying to make more money by roping people in.

sounds more like the op is just aggravated and venting. i didn't get the feeling she hated the game or blizzard, i think she is just sick of the shit that comes with people acting like it is crack cocaine.

I, for one, am tired of people acting like it's crack and nobody can ever play it without becoming so disgustingly addicted that they don't go to work or bathe or eat or maintain their irl friendships. XP

well i do play wow and i do play it casually. enough so that whenever my life gets hectic with school i cancel my subscription for a while. i love the game, but it is not my top priority.

however, i do know a few others irl that take it way too fucking seriously and say shit exactly like BUT IM THE ONLY SHAMAN OMG I HAVE 2 instead of following thru on our IRL plans we made. it gets aggravating so i can relate to the secret a bit myself while still being a wow fan.

oh I'm not saying that people don't get hopelessly addicted and that it isn't aggravating

it's just so many people act like it's IMPOSSIBLE to be a casual player, that if you're in you're in up to your eyeballs and will never get out. that annoys me. people seem to rag on WoW a lot simply because it's trendy to do so, and it's...irritating.
