Old books from childhood for the win! ♥ I haven't read it in ages and would love to, but I suspect it would have gone out of print by now... This one and The Giver and Walk Two Moons were some of the best literature that elementary school introduced me to. I also really loved The Girl Who Owned a City. No one ever talks about them or seems to remember them even though. I suspect we're too old, now, or something. *sob*

I am a children's librarian. It gives me the excuse to talk about my old favorites on a daily basis, which is why I don't end each day in tears for the future of humanity.

According to Amazon, Invitation to the Game is still in print! Now I need to get a copy for my workplace.

Have you ever read The Keeper of Isis Light by the same author? Awesome book.

Ooh. It's still in print? I may have to pick that one up. For nostalgia's sake, and in case some day I ever have kids. Who knows if it'll be available that long down the road...

That's the thing about children's books. They go out of print so fast if they don't win major awards. Very sad.

You're welcome! It's a trilogy but I know the other books have traditionally been tough to get in the US. The first one is good on its own though.
