awww... I wish I could make it better for you. What happened exactly? Season 2? Season 3 after the strike? Did you do a lot of meta-ing and got lost in the holes? I'm just curious.

I've been thinking about rewatching from the start to see if I can get back into it. They lost me near the end of S2, and I've caught a few episodes of S3. To be honest, I had troubles with the supporting cast (Meg, for example) and with how women were treated on the show. Some of the acting put me off, and the dialogue at times just felt repetitive and cheesy. They repeatedly put a brother up for death, but the impact didn't quite reach me because I expected that they needed both brothers to live in the end. The angst felt repetitive and I kept wondering where the story was going. I wasn't really happy with the transition from finding their father to killing the demon to trying to save Dean.

I'm sorry, I know a lot of people will disagree with me on all of that. >>

Hey, I wish someone had told me ahead of time. It would have saved me from this "my sweet, cute boyfriend just betrayed me and broke my heart THAT DOUCHEBAG" emotional response I've been having.

Well, those are all valid points, maybe if you do decide to try and watch with fresh eyes, don't let yourself get mired in it, and just enjoy it for the ride. I mean, anyone can pick anything apart if they want to, yanno? I understand if it annoys you more than not, that could get burdensome. It sounds like you really miss it though, and the connection you have with the rest of fandom.

How women are treated on the show has always been a very big problem for me. But I stay out of the wank.

It's always possible! I do miss the fandom experience! I might give it another try~
