It's actually very simple.

"Idris is hot! His voice and those eyes are a killer combination! 10/10, yes please!" < totally chill (and let's be real, I think 99 percent of people attracted to men feel this way about him)

"Idris is hot! I love me some dark chocolate! You know what they say, once you go black, you never go back!" < this would be fetishizing

And if, in saying the first one, you get accused of fetishizing, then you know you are amongst a radical piece of shit asshole and their opinion doesn't matter (nor does it represent the opinions of every single dreaded SJW on Tumblr, speaking as SJW killjoy myself lmao). I feel like it's a very clear distinction between finding someone attractive and fetishizing them for their race. Like, "Godfrey Gao is hot!" versus "Godfrey Gao looks so ~*exotic*~" or saying something about Diego Luna being a delicious churro or something.
