I wouldn't tag for this particular thing at all, but then I tend not to tag for things that are just plot points as opposed to actual triggers.

I'd tag for it because it may not be a trigger per-se, but it's so commonly accepted that pairing fic is romantic or is becoming romantic. If someone tagged something as a pairing fic and it was about said pairing breaking up with absolutely no indications of it being breakup fic I'd assume they were trolling hard.

Honestly this mentality that tags are only for triggers and actually harmful stuff is really annoying and stupid. Like you don't have to 'trigger warn' me that your fic is Leia/Han Solo, but if you don't tag it then people looking for Leia and Han Solo are going to be very disappointed. And it leads to the mentality that people shouldn't warn for stuff like mpreg because being triggered by men getting pregnant is transphobic and it's good to trigger transphobes.
