I'd say he's doing his job well in this case. If you DON'T want to punch Lex Luthor in the face, something's wrong.

Yeah, this is true. But there's also a big difference between hating a villain because of the terrible things they do, and hating one because they're just annoying, regardless of their motives.

I mean, which do you think makes for a stronger character?

Exactly. Kind of weird how at least two people in this thread think that super annoying = super villain.

Seriously? I'd say that if the first thing you think of when you see Lex Lutor is "annoying little prick needs a punch," something's wrong. Part of what makes Lex Luthor a threat is that he cloaks his crazynuts megalomania in teflon respectability. Eisenberg Lex is basically the Riddler with money.
