I still agree with OP that Overwatch fandom is weird as fuck about this though. Just because other woobie characters have done a lot worse (there's that one hugely-in-the-closet gay serial killer guy from that horror game who tries to carve up handsome men to turn them into women so he can marry them and tumblr absolutely creamed their collective underwear over him) doesn't mean that this one isn't another case of "wtf fandom".

Like I said he wants the perfect bride, all his pre-game victims were female, and the experiments done on him makes him literally think anyone he sees is a women. Since he's in a male-only asylum it's... bad news for anyone who runs into him. Including the protagonist.
