I don't understand where you are on this, OP: are you angry that they did this? If their ficlet was a response/fixit to yours, would you have wanted them to refer to your fic as inspiration?

Really late, because checking FS just was Not Going To Happen yesterday - basically, yeah. I'm not upset about it, it's just. Anyone I knew in the fandom is long gone, etc. It was just a weird feeling to re-read my own 14 year old fic in the first place, and then finding a thing that really seemed like it mirrored a part of what I wrote but with Added Political Correctness was the bizarre cherry on the WTF sundae. (Mostly I was like, "Really? Am I reading too much into this? But really? Come on, man, that's super OOC for Character B, no matter how politically correct it is.")
