Yes, I know about Filk. But what I've seen is not nearly as professionally done as WRock. I've basically just seen people singing it at conventions and stuff. Not actually putting out professionally-made albums. That's what I'm interested in: quality music about fandoms that I can purchase and own.

Musical tastes are subjective, but studio-recorded filk is 100% a thing and a search term that is a lot more likely to find you what you want than just saying "I want music about fandoms".

The Protomen are really good. Their original songs are inspired by the Mega Man franchise. They also have an album of songs from the 1980s that they have covered during their live shows plus a recording from when they did a tribute show to Queen.
