I'm so sick of fans tweeting inappropriate shit at actors. Telling them you hope their character dies so you can have your ship, sexually harassing them, being angry at them for shit their character did. Twitter's the fucking worst in terms of fans having no concept of what's appropriate and what isn't.

Honestly I kind of miss when actors didn't need social media to promote themselves because back then there was more of a dividing line between fans and actors. Some people really need that line so they don't act embarrassing.

I find the general craziness entertaining, when it doesn't cross over that line, but yeah some people really need to chill the fuck out

Yeah I don't get it either, if you wouldn't say that shit to a stranger then why on earth would you say that to an actor who you also don't know.

There are characters out there I absolutely loathe, and I don't get sending the actors who play them hate unless they are awful people in their own right, in which case I wouldn't send hate. Maybe something to the PR department of whatever projects they're working on explaining that thanks to the behavior of whatever actor I won't be watching whatever show, but even that's unlikely.

Ugh, yes. Even when it's not the stuff you mentioned (which is awful) but just more cringeworthy stuff like linking actors to porny fanart or fanfic, it's just...WHY? I get so much secondhand embarrassment from shit like that.
