Re: Secrets you don't feel like making
(Anonymous) 2017-05-02 02:42 am (UTC)(link)And yeah I like a lot of the characters and I did watch the first Naruto yeeearrrs back and thought the same where the basic concept was fine but there were just too many episodes and I gave up.. idk somewhere.
I think if the story was shorter their attempts at being more might work a little better. There's shit in the plot that should have been resolved in Naruto that's still in Shippuden and I don't understand how people who are huge fans can deal with it.
Re: Secrets you don't feel like making
Kishimoto was obsessed with him and his whole character arc just pissed me off.
And after all the crap he does, at the end, I was supposed to FEEL for him and juat forgive him? Fuck that noise, Kishi.
I mean, I love the world, I like the whole Shinobi thing, I love the Rookie Nine (sans Sasuke) and Gai's team, and I even think the Akatsuki were interesting, but a lot of plot points got weird or stupid and when he started to make enemies who were way more dangerous than the Akatsuki and then started in on the destiny crap (something Naruto was trying to prove DESPERATELY to neji WASN'T a thing) I was out.
Re: Secrets you don't feel like making
(Anonymous) 2017-05-02 08:52 pm (UTC)(link)Like Sasuke shows no interest in coming back or in any of their lives and there is the more clear and present danger of the Akatsuki going after the tailed beasts and yet they still all go after Sasuke (who is not under the supposed threat of being taken over by Orochimaru anymore.)
I just don't get how Sasuke is supposed to be redeemed at this point or how I'm supposed to feel for him. I know I still have a lot more episodes to go but it sounds like redemption is going to be hard to sell. And thanks to knowing about Boruto I know he and Sakura hook up and I don't for a second get that when right now Sasuke doesn't seem to care if Sakura lives or dies.
Re: Secrets you don't feel like making
And that whole thing, about getting him back, is just...it's the most stupid plot point in the entire series.
On only ONE HAND, I can understand why getting him back in important. The Sharingan. But that's it honestly. Either get him back and lock him up so we can save the eyes or just kill him to make sure NO OTHER village can get them.
The emotional aspect of getting him back just falls so flat when he doesn't want to and then proceeds to try and kill his former team time and time again.
Then, on TOP of that, is when he finally confronts his bother and finds out the truth and he just...COMPLETELY MISSES THE POINT of why Itachi left after the massacre. Why he killed their family in the first place.
And then there's still the whole thing with Sakura and it basically just ruins an awesome character and I'm just...GRAH.
It's why, for me, after the manga ended, I ignore EVERYTHING after a specific point and go read fix-it fic.
I'm trying to stay vague so I don't spoil anything, haha. ^^;;
I just...I have so many feels about this series. It has a good basic grounding and it has some VERY good moments, but when it drops the ball? IT DROPS THE BALL.
And The Last, btw, is just...bad. So much so that in Japan, they REFUSED to give back refunds when the movie premiered.
