Making friends more easily and not having crippling self doubt about every other word coming out of my mouth or action embarrassing me to hell and back.

And being considered smart for my age group.

Not paying bills. School breaks. Summer. Snow days. Being taken care of. The house I grew up in. The friends I had.

I miss sleep... like, really deep sleep where I loved daydreaming in bed just before I fell asleep (and I always fell asleep quickly with no insomnia issues) and then when I woke up I felt 100% refreshed. That never happens to me now. NEVER. My god I miss it. :(

I miss being able to settle with a fresh, newly published compilation of Calvin and Hobbes comics and a giant bag of sour gummies.

I can still do the sour gummies, but it's just not the same with my childhood buddies. :(

*Living at the edge of a small woods with a creek running through it -- I spent almost all my free time playing in the woods, year-round
*My incredibly vivid fantasy life and daydreams, and how unselfconsciously I immersed myself in them

I miss being able to eat pretty much anything without worrying about indigestion.

I mean I did get pukey a lot because my guts sucked even then, but I never worried about it! I just ate, either got sick or didn't, and went about my day.

the ability to run around outdoors for hours without getting tired and sore.

even hiking at my age is less exercise, more torture, so even doing it for fun isn't a thing I can do. but I miss outdoors. I miss the wilderness. I miss identifying birds and wildflowers without the crippling knee pain and back and foot agony and allergies.

Merry-go-rounds
Being able to just run, with abandon, without my knees protesting.
The way I used to feel about a Happy Meal.
Believing that when you grow up, you can do anything you want.

I miss thinking that I was going to grow up and be successful at a cool job and fall deeply in love and maybe have a really cool house or something. In reality, I'm on disability, I don't have much money or much potential to make money, and I'm ace/aro. Not saying my life sucks completely. It could be a lot worse. But its really hard to accept I'm not going to have that stuff.

I also miss being able to kick ass on the monkey bars. I had mad arm strength when I was a kid.
