Growing out of Harry Potter did the opposite for me, funnily enough. I used to be a book purist and all the movie changes bothered me too much. Now I appreciate the movies as a separate thing and am kind of over the books. I don't see myself re-reading any of them again, but I'd totally watch the movies if there's nothing better to do some night.
