Someone brought up Sigfried and Roy and the mauling and I said something along the lines of, "well, what did they expect?" - and the person I was talking to went on an immediate tirade of NOBODY DESERVES THAT JUST FOR BEING GAY!!!! before I could say, no, no, I just meant that if you work with really dangerous animals that's a risk you run. It took me FOREVER to convince them that, yeah, maybe I'm a bit harsh and unsympathetic towards animal trainers, but that I'm not homophobic. :/
