There's no purpose in making a vague secret.

Here's my secret: There's a thing that I don't like that involves some characters doing some things.

I mean, why should anybody care?

(Anonymous) 2017-05-05 02:36 am (UTC)(link)
You don't have to care, but it doesn't mean making vague secrets have no purpose. They have purpose to the person who makes them. You're free not to like them, but your efforts would probably be put to better use by making and submitting good, purposeful secrets instead of telling other people their secrets are pointless.

So you're saying vague secret makers are egomaniacs who don't understand that the community isn't all about them. Fair enough, but they'd probably be more comfortable on a platform like Tumblr, where reciprocal interaction is not expected, if not actively discouraged.

Oh, stop it. Don't like? Don't read.

(Anonymous) 2017-05-05 07:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Now you're just being silly. The whole point of the fandom secrets is that you're posting things for other people to read. If you're going to post "only for yourself," then you really should get your own space. No one has snagged vaguely_anonymous.tumblr.com or mostimportantfan.tumblr.com yet.

DA

I would think that the "point" of fandomsecrets is for people to get a fandom-related secret off their chest. There's no unwritten rule that secrets must be detailed enough to get you specifically interested in reading them. If you don't care about vague secrets, you don't care. But that doesn't mean people should make their own special blog for their vague secrets just so that you don't have to tire yourself out scrolling past them. You're acting ridiculous.

And how exactly does "I have a secret, but I can't say what it is, but it's really a secret, I swear!" get anything off anyone's chest? You're not even making sense.

(Anonymous) 2017-05-05 10:49 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't know, because I don't make secrets at all, let alone vague ones. But it's not up to you or me to decide whether or not a secret is sufficiently specific to make someone feel better... obviously they get something out of it, or they wouldn't bother submitting the secret.

I'm guessing that none of this will sink in, though, because you're most likely trolling.
