That's pretty common with most fandoms. The fics with most comments/kudos/favorites/etc. are usually kind of shitty.

I'm super not interested in transfic but you should be able to read whatever you want in your free time. Most fanfiction is fetishizing someone.

Question for Transformers Fans re: Bumblebee

Do you actually like Bumblebee? I mean beyond him being inoffensive and just kinda there. I get that you probably don't dislike his character, but do you actively like and want to see more of him? I'll admit I don't get why Bumblebee is now the feature character of pretty much every part of the Transformers franchise right now, even in the comics where he dead he's Starscream's personal Obi-Wan ghost. I don't get why Hasbro are pushing him so hard.

His toy always seems to be the last one on the rack, and there is always a mess of discarded Bumblebee toy packs on the floor around the racks too (and most of the Transformers toys in the reduced bin are damaged Bumblebee packs). When I see kids going through the toys they always seem to throw Bumblebee toys on the ground to get to the others, but his toy still gets shipped in huge numbers. Is this just a weird thing in my area, and Bumblebee is just oddly unpopular here, or what?

As I say I don't particularly dislike the character, but I don't understand why he is the face of the Franchise and pushed so hard. There are far more interesting characters, for me anyway. What about everyone else?

It really depends on how you define those two words, because both of them can be applied in a lot of different ways.

Part of the problem is that some of his music gets re-used in trailers. There's a bit from the Power of One soundtrack (one of my favorite soundtracks ever) that I've heard re-used in a LotR trailer and probably others. See also: David Arnold's Stargate soundtrack.

Yeah. He's no John Williams, but then who is? I do rate Klaus Badelt as the higher one in their songwriting team. Of course the late John Barry can never be eclipsed.
