48. Write whatever you want to write. I know a ton of people who write relationship stories because that's what they're good at writing, but they love gen. I know people who would prefer more gen, but can't write/FEEL they can't write. I personally love character relationships, platonic-friendship or platonic-familial or romantic or sexual, but tend to write shippy stuff because that's what I feel most comfortable writing and what usually sparks my interest. But I loev me some genfic. =D SO START YOUR REVOLUTION, GO ON~ You will have people who appreciate it, no matter what it looks like.

61. Manga/anime series aimed mostly towards a male audience are going to have fanservice and as much cuteness/sexiness/etc from the female characters as possible. Manga/anime series aimed towards teenage girls (or even shounen series that KNOW there's going to be a large female fanbase) tend to try to show the boys as pretty/handsome/built, etc, as possible. It's eye candy. As long as the character is being portrayed as something more than simple eye candy, relax about it.

63. She would not really be that weight. Manga has NEVER equalled real life, and Bleach seems to be HORRIBLE at giving realistic stats. Don't try to copy something that isn't trying to fact check at all, you'll only make yourself unhealthy- and look horrible on top of that if that's why you're doing it.

The fandom over on the scifi boards back when it was airing was really tight-knit and well-connected. We had production staff hanging out on the boards and giving tidbits, Mike McCafferty (Eberts) even hung out sometimes too. A huge group of us organized a meet-up at Comic Con one summer, and all got to go see an episode of the show being filmed, have lunch on the studio lot, talk to the actors and all (I got a pic with Vince--made me the happiest 16 year old ever [and yes, I was the youngest there, wow.]), still an amazing experience I carry with me *_____*

I love you! If their were more people with that mindset in that fandom, I wouldn't find it so creepy. I mean, I hate to bring up that 75 OP kid from friday, but she made some sense when she was talking about obsessive fans.....who just might be my age.

For the most part, I can just roll my eyes at most fanservice, and if the character in question seems like some thought and effort went into their personality, I don't worry too much about it. But I'm with you on the vacant smiles I see on a lot of anime girls-- it drives me absolutely nuts every time I see it and turns me off the series completely. Do I wish there was less fanservice in my favorite shonen series? Absolutely. But I can live with it as long as there looks like someone's home upstairs, at least.

Yes, the shipwars in the fandom are quite amusing (and sometimes terrifying...) But I suppose it's the same with all fandoms!

I doubt it. A bunch of us went on a school trip and we found out that one of our number was severely anorexic. (She claimed to want to get help afterwards, but that accomplishment was basically after three weeks of group hugs.) And I remember there was an exchange:

Anorexic: I'm...really tired. I wonder why that is? Maybe I didn't get enough sleep?
Her Roomate: ...no, it's because you didn't EAT ANYTHING. You're HUNGRY. You're FAINT FROM HUNGER. You skipped breakfast!

...so yeah.

12: I agree with this secret so hard. Fandom frowns upon Doctor/Rose shippers, but I can't help that it appeals to me so much! I loved their chemistry and companionship, and I just like Rose more than the other companions. That doesn't make me stupid or whatnot.

I don't see what 19 is wobbling about and I don't ship ConYuu. I see them as the mentor/kid type friendship. But what I like know is when will both sides shut up about how one pairing is greater than the other. Sheesh, isn't there MORE important stuff in the world to worry about than which ship makes more sense?

I mean, back when I was watching the season one fansubs, the fandom was alot nicer and alot saner. And the motto was, "Everybody can ship whoever they want because the series likes to tease it audience."

....Maybe it just died somewhere.

Also I hate the "Conyuu" is canon secrets too, just so you know.

61. I always think about Faye Valentine when people complain about fan service. She's probably Fan Service in (beautiful) human form, and makes Jessica Rabbit seem dowdy. But she is also one of the best developed female characters in anime.
