Just walking is great. I do a few sets of push-ups and crunches every day if I'm not doing heavy labor at work.

It just depends on what your goals are. If you can't speedwalk for 20 minutes without being seriously winded, do that. If you want to be able sprint a mile, work on that. If you just want to be able to walk up and down the stairs without huffing and puffing, start walking up and down the stairs a few times every day.
