The Eiffel Tower.

In fairness to The Eiffel Tower, it's completely lovely, but being cursed out by a vendor while I was there was not ideal and soured the experience just a little bit.

I don't even like the Eiffel Tower that much but it is a pretty stupendous structure and view.

I would like to hear the story of how you were cursed out by a vendor!

I went to Belgium for a month long study abroad trip with free weekends, and Paris was one of my "free weekend" trips. University mandate said students had to be in groups of three at all times, and so my Paris trip (there were three free weekends, wherein there were trips to Paris both the second and third weekend) was me and three other women I didn't know very well. One of them was one of my two roommates, and...well let's just say I didn't love her.

When we first got to the Eiffel Tower grounds and were taking photos and selfies from a distance, there was a vendor selling selfie sticks, and he was working a sale for a family & trying to work one on this roommate I didn't love who was super flighty and indecisive, easily manipulated, and I kept telling him she wasn't interested (because she wasn't, not really.) And he got so pissed off about it that he started swearing at me, so finally, the four of us up & left to a different location away from him.

I had a similarly bad experience with a bracelet maker in London, but that's on me because I literally was not carrying cash on me for the trip, and I didn't have any change for the bracelet. Whether he believed me or not, that's the truth, so I feel bad that he spent the time talking me up & braiding the bracelet & then being like "Welp. No sale here. I'm taking it back."
