I live with my father, and I try not to feel weird about it, but I still often feel the need to defend the validity of my situation to people.

As in, my father is my best friend and favorite person in the world. I like living with him.

As in, I pay my share of the expenses.

As in, we function together and share a lot of things, but he treats me like an equal and I do my own laundry and go grocery shopping and pay bills and share in the cooking and chores, and yes, I let him know where I am if I'm out late, because that's courteous, but he'd never act like he had the right to dictate what I do with my time.
