119. With Secret Invasion, you may get your wish !

Seriously though, being pretty much the only "successful" gay couple in Marvel right now means that they're probably going to have riots at their doors or something if they do break them up. But I don't think it's the sole reason they're popular - maybe it's because they're actually interesting characters?

edit: but I do agree that they're pretty much the hook that gets a LOT of people into YA

Yeah really, they can just stand to the side and make sarcastic remarks about everyone else.

That's because you like dicks!

Yeah, and Patriot is polite and friendly.

YES FOR SPEED!

Though a friend of mine is convinced he's a Skrull, and my favorite characters tend to die or end up badly :'(

HE'S NOT A SKRULL DAMMIT! X(

I agree, they're great characters, and I have to admit they're the hook that got me into YA, but...I just feel over whelmed with all the Billy/Teddy stuff in the fandom and I feel that everyone else, particularly Kate and Cassie are ignored.

As to them breaking up in SI... I would rather not. I want a realistic break up for them, something that people can relate to, as someone mentioned they are very real characters whom readers can relate to.

Yeah, that I can completely agree with (but I'm also guilty of drawing mostly them - I think it's because they don't get much room in canon to really act like a couple, so fandom tries to make up for it. A lot). I can see why they naturally get more attention, but I love the other characters too (Kate's one of my other favourites, actually) and would love to see more stuff done for them. I've been really enjoying the Presents series because we've actually gotten slightly more focused looks at them all.

I think Marvel would get too much of a bad reaction if they split them up because of/during SI - it looks like they're doing that to Xavin/Karolina already, so two couples is stretching it.

*nodnod* Presents is really what they needed to flesh the characters out. (Wish Tommy got his own though ;_;)

Yeah I know. I'm not happy about that either. It seems all the lesbians of Comics are going away/dying/breaking up now, and it's not a good thing. I mean there's good storytelling, and then there's not thinking.

I'm really looking forward to seeing where the series goes after SI, especially since Bendis and Yost keep hinting at Very Bad Things happening to the team and phrases like "--or what's left of them". I'm excited though because I saw someone say that Heinberg knows about the Scarlet Witch's return, which totally implies things.

I'm kind of going off on a bunch of tangents here but I love talking about this stuff. ):
