137. I agree that there are definite differences between Sues and OCs. Too bad so much of fandom fights this concept tooth and nail.
146. App anyway. New people are awesome, and I'd love to see you around. Have you considered joining the IRC channel? We're all fantabulous dorks and love newcomers.
155. All I can say is jump into the waters. If you can find an RP that doesn't have your character already, go ahead and app him/her. If you find an RP that looks like fun but has your preferred character taken, try playing a different character that you like. The only way you'll get experience is by participating.
172. Haha, I always have a map open just so I don't get lost. Different people have different play styles, and whatever works for you is great!
