It's highly subjective, I guess. Some people, even those who work, honestly can't afford them.

That's true. But I don't begrudge those who can the right to spend disposable income on whatever they want. I think there are a lot of silly hobbies, and frankly, $7 every two months is a lot cheaper than some RPers who spend hundreds on books (or costumes, in the case of LARP).

OP seems sore to me because of something that's pretend. No money, maybe?
