But there are many more where it isn't like that as well. I literally just read two books from different series that had women kicking ass alongside of men where it wasn't considered any big deal. Hell, in the one book, the women tend to skew slightly more powerful than the men just based on where their talents lie. I know there are books out there where this isn't the case, but the OP seems to be saying that this series is the only one that does it and I vehemently disagree.

It depends on your experiences with urban fantasy, mine have been about as negative as OP's. Can you give me the names of those books where the heroine isn't the only competent woman around and gets along just fine with other capable women without bitchiness? I had to stop reading the genre outside of recs because of it.

As I said in my original comment, I read mostly ebooks (through Kindle Unlimited), so I don't know that they would be accessible for you? As another anon recommended below, the last actual books I read were by Seanan McGuire for one and the Charley Davidson series (which verges toward the romantic, so that might not be for you), both of which have strong female characters. With both of the series by MacGuire, there aren't a lot of fighters (not a huge main cast), but they are equally distributed between genders.

If you want the names of some ebooks, I can look through my Kindle reads. Also, a warning on those, they are enjoyable, but they aren't always perfect, as they are mostly self published.

I've got Kindle app on all my devices, I'm good! No fighters and romance is fine, it's only abusive relationships and weak wills I dislike. I tried Seanan McGuire's October Daye books and the ending of the first one bugged me so I quit, but so did Kate Daniels so I can give that another shot if they're good with women. Do you recommend InCryptid, too?

Lesser known books would be great, I've had terrible luck with big names (i.e. Mercy Thompson) but I've found some small press or self-published gems. Just a couple of your favorites, if you have time and don't mind, no need for a list, I'd be grateful for a few!
