I'm not going to be grateful for crumbs. What, LGBTQ people can't have expensive shows? We only get to have two (very short) seasons of a really amazing, representative and inclusive show, but hey, at least we got that much? Fuck that.

(Anonymous) 2017-06-02 01:40 am (UTC)(link)The bottom line is that Netflix is out to make money, just as every Network is. But instead of choosing the path of least resistance and highest probability of success, they chose a path of a lot of resistance and a low probability of monetary success.
Being mad at Netflix after all of that just seems like throwing a fit because they didn't give you what you want. I'm sad the show was cancelled, but I was also pleasantly surprised it existed in the first place, and I was even more pleasantly surprised when it got a second season. It's not a commercial network or a streaming service's job to be a charity fund for projects we deem "more worthy" for one reason or another. The most we can reasonably ask is that they give new content a decent chance to earn its keep rather than shooting it down at conception because some exec with poll stats is saying the odds are against it.

And please - stop with this 'omg, you're being so entitled' blah blah. I want what's on my tv/computer to *reflect me and my life*, and i don't think that's too much to ask, since they manage to cater to white, straight people endlessly.
For fuck's sake - I'm pissed at Netflix, but until you came at me with this stupid 'be happy for your crumbs!' bullshite, i wasn't anywhere near 'throwing a fit'.
God's teeth.
