Only controversial here in Texas I think, but the Alamo is a ridiculous battle to be celebrating. It shouldn't have happened, and the only reason it did was because the people who insisted on staying there were idiots. Those men weren't heroes any more than Lord Cardigan or Pickett were. Yes, Santa Ana was an idiot too when he attacked this completely un-strategic place. But that doesn't make it any better or any more of a thing this city should define itself by.

Texas can be part of the USA if they go back the original boundaries. South and West "Texas" should be liberated, and if they want to rejoin Mexico, that should be OK.
