Demisexuals are not an oppressed group. If your sexuality is one that society drills into you from birth is the correct paradigm for a relationship, then you don't get to claim your sexuality is marginalised. Call yourself whatever you like but you don't face discrimination like a gay, bi, trans, or asexual person does.

Probably not a controversial opinion here on F!S but man this grinds my gears.

I don't think demisexuals are an oppressed group or that demisexuality is even an orientation. It's just a label. And I have no problem with using that label if you find it useful to further categorize how you experience attraction, but whatever.

But it really grinds my gears is the opinion that this is true about demisexuality: "one that society drills into you from birth is the correct paradigm for a relationship." I guess I grew up in a different society than everyone who says that, because I was absolutely pressured to be sexually attracted to men whether or not I was in a relationship with one. (Remember demisexuality isn't about who you have sex with, it's about who's capable of turning you on.) If you didn't have a crush on at least one popular guy in school (even someone you wouldn't know personally), something was wrong with you. If you didn't get your panties soaked over Orlando Bloom or Leonardo DiCaprio or someone like that, something was wrong with you. Straight girl hormones were expected, no "deep emotional connection" required. Once again, I'm not saying this is oppression, I'm only saying the notion that demisexuality is the societal expectation is incorrect.

Yes, I think the same about those who posted violent pictures of Obama. You don't joke about killing someone.

It was in bad taste, I don't think she should have been fired, but the hypocrisy of conservatives complaining is more offensive to me than the actual picture.

Only controversial here in Texas I think, but the Alamo is a ridiculous battle to be celebrating. It shouldn't have happened, and the only reason it did was because the people who insisted on staying there were idiots. Those men weren't heroes any more than Lord Cardigan or Pickett were. Yes, Santa Ana was an idiot too when he attacked this completely un-strategic place. But that doesn't make it any better or any more of a thing this city should define itself by.

I'm NOT at all a Kathy Griffin fan, I actually dislike her, but I don't have an issue with what she did. Trump himself has done far worse, and I don't understand people who think a comedian joking about him dying is somehow worse than the many people who are ACTUALLY going to die as a result of his administration's healthcare plan.

I was happy Sense8 got canceled, I thought it was a piece of crap.

Normally I can just ignore series I don't like but for some reason I was just happy about this cancellation, don't ask me to explain why because I don't know.

I'm fine with loli/shota/other disgusting shit as long as nobody was harmed. (The only gray area that I haven't really sorted out is if artists use irl photos, including nonpornographic, to make the porn.) Additionally I have no respect people who argue that these should be banned because "fiction influences reality" wholly ignoring that adults are responsible for their actions and these sorts of porn (other types of fiction) prove an outlet for people to explore actions they would never do in real life.

I have no issue against people who don't like to drink, smoke, whatever themselves. That's cool.
But the people who act like alcohol, weed, and cigarettes are so bad and gross, and are judgmental of others who do it (responsibly)? Yeah, I think those people are really, really lame.

I think most Let's Play videos are really annoying.

I know you're being invited to witness the game through the player's eyes, and witness their reactions.

But god are they annoying, especially when they try reading dialogue that doesn't have VA.

I'm probably not being fair though, since there are times I'm just looking for a cutscene by itself and I can't find one without SOMEONE'S GODDAMN UNFUNNY VOICE SPEWING ALL OVER AN EMOTIONAL SCENE AND RUINING IT.

*ahem* I guess it helps to watch a game you haven't yet played or something.

The idea of a safe space is ridiculous because what makes a space safe for one person can make it unsafe for another. The best solution is to give people tools to manage their experience.
