I sometimes think that they are ungrateful their success, but I also feel like there comes a point in an actor's career where if they don't want to keep playing the same character, or feel like they've taken the character as far as they want to in terms of development, or just don't want to be completely pigeon-holed, then maybe they get to leave without it being ungrateful and, for me, 13 years as the same character (over 300 episodes) goes past that point. So, I don't think you need to feel bad about being glad in this case, unless you were resentful of another actor that left after so many years (I can't actually think of any others).

I know. In some cases I think I'm right, but in other cases I know I'm not but can't stomp down the feeling. Hence irrational!

The actor who played Derek Morgan on Criminal Minds left after ten? seasons. I didn't feel like he was ungrateful either, so *shrugs*.
