Like, yes, people are complicated and imperfect, but I have friends who are good people and family who are good people and I feel like I'm pretty ok myself. So whenever people argue that a super cynical, Everybody Sucks story is more realistic, I always kind of think: Isn't that an insult to your friends? And if you really believe that, why do you even have friends at all? And does that mean you're a shitty person? Or is it just that you believe everybody sucks except you?
