Re: Unpopular characters that you love

Yuri Plisetsky from Yuri On Ice isn't universally unpopular, but he's very polarizing. Some people thought he was the only good part of the show, and some thought he was the only bad part of it. But the first group of people seem to have left the fandom after the show ended, and the second group are still around and there's been extra backlash against him recently because of his EX skate bonus footage in the last DVD.

And yes, I'm so damn protective of him when I see hate. Especially the kind where fanfic writers make Victor and Yuuri OOC to treat him as just some annoying kid they tolerate. They could at least label those fics as "AU where Victor and Yuuri treat Yurio the way I wish they had in canon instead of the way they actually do."

I like Yurio too and I feel protective of him because he reminds me of the kids I work with. Yeah, he's bratty and arrogant, but he's also fifteen. He's got time to grow and mature. Plus, his adoration for his grandpa is incredibly adorable.
