I've never cared for her, and even though I hate Trump, I didn't think it was funny--but

I did read a very interesting article about the double-standard against female comedians who pull that kind of "shock" controversial comedy and their male counterparts. Basically, the point is that while it would have still been controversial coming from Louis C.K. or someone like that, the public outcry/media backlash was even more extreme because Griffen is a woman. And I couldn't quite disagree.

From Louis CK it would probably be at least mildly shocking. From someone like, say, Gilbert Gottfried it would be yawn-inducing.

Hardly anyone is mentioning the male photographer, who actually came up with the idea.

Right. Because it's not like a male rodeo clown lost his job for wearing an Obama mask or anything, even though he'd worn the masks of previous presidents as well.
