Not a masterpiece, I'll grant you, but it's a childhood classic of mine that I still enjoy.

Yes, of course, there are issues with it, but w/e...

I grew up wanting to be like Evie: intelligent, resourceful, beautiful, and we both love books! Also, I was very interested in Ancient Egypt and this movie only fueled the fire.

It doesn't hurt that I thought Brendan Fraser (as the roguish American hero) was pretty cute (Bonus when we were given Oded Fehr <3). I felt like everyone (even the old man pilot, even the high priest) had a pretty good share in the tale.

Fun movie, able to see it with a family (any innuendo was smooth enough to fly over my head, but the chemistry was clear enough that even my 7 year old self could tell they liked each other). Adventure, fun, romance, and supernatural all in one. Classic.
