I see what your saying, but this is slightly different -I know, I know, "Everything is different except for all the similarities", but this feels significantly different to me - This became NEWS. This image was everywhere. Now that's not inherently Kathy Griffins fault that it got such wide spread showing, but she had to know it was a probability.

It was not everywhere. I've read some headlines about but I've yet to see the actual image. I'm an adult who frequents both reddit and tumblr. You are telling me they can't keep an 11yo from seeing it? Shit parental figures then. But that isn't surprising.

I wasn't even looking for it, and I saw the image before I heard about the wank. It was on freaking Yahoo homepage for crying out loud.

Sounds to me like that's your fault for still using Yahoo.

So... it's a parent's responsibility to monitor what media their child consumes unless it's challenging to do so? Mind you, we're talking about people who can afford around the clock childcare, if they so choose.

Then again, I haven't seen it. I've made no effort to avoid it, but I haven't seen it by accident, either.

C'mon son, calling it "challenging" to keep a kid from seeing a news outlet is a tad disingenuous. North Korea can just about manage to keep people from accessing the news, just, and they going to some pretty extreme lengths.

This. Also, a kid consuming violent video games/movies with a bunch of unknown/fictional characters getting bumped off is a bit different from seeing an image (however badly faked) of your dad's decpitated head. I despise Trump, but I do feel for the kid.

Yeah, but every time they showed it on the news they blurred out the head so you couldn't even see it.

I assure you, not every time. I can only think of one time I did see it blurred actually.
